We are looking at booking to stay at the silver beach in june......any advise?

well we have booked to go end june/ early july. any advise about what to take or not take would be good.
Is it worth taking our snorkelling equipment?
What is the dress code in hotel?
Is there a hairdryer/Kettle/Iron in rooms? or do we need to take them?
would we be better looking at car hire in the uk or waiting until arrive? we would only want one for abot 3 days just to explore.

LOCATION: Silver Beach Hotel is situated on a white sandy beach, at Trou d'Eau Douce on the east coast of Mauritius, 50 km from the capital of Mauritius Port Louis and 45 km from Mauritius' airport.

ROOMS: There are 32 standard rooms with terrace/balcony located in the main building of Silver Beach Hotel all are sea-facing, 28 Garden view rooms with a terrace/balcony located in 5 two storey buildings. Eight of these are interconnecting. Each room has double/twin beds, air-conditioning, bathroom with shower and toilet, telephone, TV, mini bar, personal safe and hair drier.

POOL: Freshwater swimming pool near to the bar.

RESTAURANT: The Silver Beach Hotel restaurant faces the pool faces the pool and sea, serving European and local cuisine. Vegetarian meals are on request.
BARS: The Silver Beach Hotel pool bar is open from 10.00hr until midnight.

ENTERTAINMENT: Live musical entertainment every day except Sunday. There is a Sega show , which is the traditional music from Mauritius usually once a week.

SERVICES: Free water sports: Windsurfing, pedalos, kayaks, snorkelling and a free boat trip to Ile Aux Cerfs. Land sports free include Volley ball, French bowling, tennis volley (on the beach), games room with pool table, table tennis and darts.
Pay at a nearby hotel for: Scuba diving, Small game fishing, glass bottom boat, water skiing, catamaran cruise, deep sea fishing, speedboat trips, parasailing and horse riding.
