Honeymoon hotels, Sugar beach hotel

Postby ithara » Fri Apr 02, 2004 10:23

My fiancee and I are planning to got to Mauritius for our honeymoon in the middle of June for a week. We were going to stay at Berjaya Le Morne, but after much research found that perhaps the Northwest coast is better for the weather at that time. We are considering Sugar beach hotel as it seems to be a nice combination of weather, beautiful scenery, romantic setting. I would like something with views of the water and mountains with easily acessible more private beaches. We were also thinking about Troux au Biches, Le Meridian. Please let me know what you have found to be nice in your experience. Thanks

Hi Ithara,

giving me the choice to stay at Berjaya or Sugar beach, I rather take Sugar Beach.
It's almost in everythink better then Berjaya.
beach and sunset are beautiful, excellent service and food .
Meridien have not yet experainced (it's quite new), Trou aux Biches also has a lot of charm.
But: view on the mountin you have only in Berjaya (le Morne is great, perfect also for walking)

Best regards,

Hi Ithara,

we stayed at the Sugar Beach Resort from 19.2 until 4.3 this year.
The Hotel is great. Excellent food, beautiful rooms, wonderful service and great watersport-facilities. A supermarket is quite near, where you can buy some drinks, because the minibar is really expensive.
I can really recommend this hotel to you :ploppop
If you have further questions just contact me at

Many greetings
Petry :-)

Thank you for your advise. We were also wondering about Hilton Mauritius. That looks pretty nice also from what I read.
