Has anyone been to Sugar Beach???

2 1/2 weeks before I am due to travel to La pirogue hotel (for my wedding) on the west coast, I have been kicked out of the hotel so they can have a conference!!!!

Well they are putting us next door at Sugar Beach which is meant to be better but is only £6 per night more expensive and I don't think it has the charm of La pirogue (and no fresh update)

Can anyone tell me anything about sugar beach?????

in the german forum they spoke about this too and some people say, it's even a upgrading.
i believe you will be fine.

Hi there,

I don't think you should let the fact that it is 'only £6 more expensive' per night put you off staying at Sugar Beach!

My sister-in-law was married there this time last year and it was absolutely beautiful. Though I didn't stay there myself, she and her husband spent their honeymoon at the hotel and had nothing but praise for the wonderful food and service etc.

The actual wedding was a magical day with the ceremony taking place under a beautiful marquee on the grounds right near the beach, and evening dinner was held in a very grand hall, with the catering cooking outside on wonderful barbeques etc... I'm quite sure you will have a wonderful day so don't be put off!

Thanks for the comments on Sugar beach.

The £6 reference was only becasue I was hacked off at Kuoni's attitude that I should be happy I was upgraded, when I booked 15 months in advance to get the date and location I wanted and they had taken both away!!

The wedding is back at la pirogue, but the meal will be at sugar beach, and we are staying at sugar beach for 9 of the nights.

I think I just don't like change - but am warming to Sugar beach!!
