Also i have booked a helecopter to transfer us to hotel after a tour of island, are they safe with the winds at this time of year.

Hi johno2004,

First of all I guess we should be realistic knowing that it's impossible to have a 3 weeks weather forecast. Even here in England we get the 3 days weather all wrong most of the time. Not only Summer is prone to Cyclones, Winter weather can be affected by anticyclones but they are not as fierce as their cousins but sometimes they can bring winds and heavy rain that might hinder air traffic.

The security of tourists remains one of the priorities of the Hotel and Air Mauritius I believe and I'm confident that they will judge it right if the weather is too bad to fly. You don't have to worry.

Expect a couple of days of rainfall as worst case scenario and take it easy...the weather should be fine.

Enjoy your holidays

Best Regards

Hi Johno2004,
The links above will give you a 7 day forecast of the weather in Mauritius,
It is usually drier in the south and west of the island but as our friend Ud said, you should expect a couple of rainy days. The daytime temperatures will still be quite warm at this time of the year.
Have a nice holiday,
Gerard

It will ALLWAYS come down to the ground -- somehow.
You can be sure...

Werner It might be the sea as well.......but anyways johno2004, like I've said before no need to worry about that, there's never been any helicopter accidents! None that I can recall of since my childhood and I'm talking about more than 15 years.....

Best Regards

Hi nypy,

No! helicopters don't fly to St Brandon because its too far and Rodrigues has got one air Mauritius helicopter if I recall properly.

For helicopter trips around Mauritius, please visit the Air Mauritius Websites for tourists!
