Trou aux Biches Hotel noise

I am currently in Mauritius, it's Sunday night 11pm and our bungalow has just been rudely awoken by the Trou aux Biches Hotel letting off fireworks that went for about 10 minutes. I called the local police station who advise the hotel will likely have a permit from the Ministry as it was to celebrate the end of a wedding. Regardless of the reason, and best wishes to the happy couple if the police line is correct, what a disgusting and disgraceful act to wake up an entire neighbourhood on a Sunday night like that. What sort of country permits a hotel to disturb other tourists and residents of an entire suburb for the sake of fireworks ? It's even a work day tomorrow.

The hotel puts the pleasure and right to peaceful enjoyment of the population second.

Yes, unfortunately the locals have a faible for these crackers, the louder the better and seems not like for example in Germany that the sale of those things are only allowed some 3 days prior to new years eve. You can always see those, especially the chinese chain crackers, in local shops.
It seems there is always a reason to fire some. So when you see a bigger party around (or hear it) you can assume that there will later some bang. Would be definitely nice from a hotel or whoever else has a big party, to inform the neighborhood, that some noise will be going on in the night. Maybe you can bring this idea forward to the hotel.
And about the working day the next day...I guess that doesn't matter to the people here...if there is a hangover or the party took simply too long...they take a sick leave and say someone in the far family died.
