Heyyy people.. im here on holiday forr a month was wonderingg average prciess for tours and taxis pricesss? as i dont wan to get ripped off...there fours of us..also what places are the better to go buy taxi and which by yourself.. and what places are the best to go to

I have been to Mauritius few times, the last time was about 2 months ago, and probably I will be back for another visit during December.

During my last visit we decided not to rent a car, so we mainly used taxis.

Here are the prices we paid, which I believe are quite good:
Airport taxi: 35 Euro per way
Full day taxi to travel the island (from 09:00 until 17:00): 60 Euro
Taxi from Grand Baie to Casela Park and back: 42 Euro
Taxi from Grand Baie to Black river and back: 40 Euro
Taxi from Flic en Flac to Blue Bay and back: 32 Euro

As for the tours, we ordered some tours and excursions through this website:

I know they are quite big in Mauritius, their prices were good and we were very pleased with all the tours and activities ordered. Check their website - you can find all the prices online.

Other big agencies I heard of are:

If you let us know where you are going to stay you might get some recommendations. Almost everyone who ever wrote or writes in this forum has a taxi driver who is either really cheap or know a lot about Mauritian history or botany or whatever...

Just put in the area where your tours will start and I'm convinced you will get some more good recommendations.

A holiday irrespective of which country you go is to relax and have a nice time. If you try to haggle with cost you cannot enjoy. I went for holidays to Far East, Europe as well as USA with differnt budget keeping in mind the pros and cons of each country. We work all year round with so much stress and make some money. Take a break and have an nice time whenever you travel to any country without compromising on the expense.

but welcome and i will drive u around, heh, it will be nice to see your face, all snow and ice and car sliding both sides all time, just like rally, but you will get used to it

btw, if u take a taxi here for a day, it will be around 500e

I knew the taxi prices must have increased even in Finland although my preferred means of transport over there would be a sleigh pulled by (at least) six elks. (Is this correct - elk?).

Guess what: You can keep your snow and ice for yourself! My mother always told me that it had been 20 Degrees Celsius below 0 when I was born and my father came to see her and little tortue on a bike for 8 kilometers! I guess they had to lift him off the bike and treat him for at least two hours before he was able to do anything at all...

No, no, this is definitely not my climate. I rather sweat my a.. off than get cold...

heh, well that -20 celcius is normal in every winter here, but when it is cold, it will go to -40 and -50, lucky me, because normal it's only in northern parts of finland and i am living "south" , heh, here it goes only -30 or -35 celcius

but "cold" is not so bad, when it's dry, as it's in warm temperatures too, we have over 100 celcius in sauna and we joy it
