There is a lot to visit on the island. I've been there five times now and still haven't seen everything. I advise you to get a good travel book. Read a bit and then narrow down depending on how much time you have and according to your personal interests.
Since you're in Trou d'Eau Douce, you're close to the Deer Island (Ile aux Cerfs). Go there early, because it gets crowded towards midday.

You can also find lots of info online. Here's just one URL:

Quad biking, IMO as bad as jet ski!

Sorry for my being so honest.

things to do

Postby macca06 » Fri Feb 29, 2008 14:22

while in mauritius a few months ago my brother and his girlfriend went quad biking at casela bird park which is on the west coast. they had a really good time and it looks like heaps of fun! also there are a few adventure parks on the east coast on some of the old hunting estates that a few friends of mine went to that are a real blast, they have things like kayaking, big flying foxes and stuff like that. there is also an adventure park at chamarel with lots of high ropes stuff so i hope your not scared of heights if you go to that one

If I recall properly,

Domaine Des Pailles (located at Pailles Port Louis) and Domaine du Chasseur (near Le Morne) also offer adventure and theme rides on horses, jeep or quad bikes.

Hope this helps
