spending in mauritius

Beitragvon delims » Di Jun 08, 2004 7:26

i'll be in mauritius next saturday, and my husband and i are planning to go hiking. except that i do not have any hiking shoes. my question is, are hiking shoes cheap over in mauritius? like timberland shoes? or is it cheaper to get it here in singapore?

another question i've got is, how much money should we bring over, if we want to see all the sights and go for yatching and all? is rs 30k enough for 2 people? including some shopping? is there any good places that we can get cheap designer goods from? what should we beware of?

another thing, where can we get the best rates for currency exchange? we're planning to bring travellers cheques.
thanks in advance!

hi delims, i believe you better bring your hiking shoes from singapore, as i'm not sure if we have timberland on the marked and if, there want be your size, Mauritius are limit in sizes over 43.

i don't understand 23k ?! but anyway, you can spend a lot of money here, but you can have buget holidays too, so is difficult to say, how much you gone need.

"shibanie" change money to a better rate then the bank, you will find it in any bigger city, but if there take travellers cheques > i don't know, you are better off with a cart, if posible.

is shibani a money exchange company? i've read somewhere that travellers cheque gets a better rate than cash? please tell me if this is true?

what i meant was, is mur 30, 000 enough for just sight seeing and shopping? how much are those hand crafted ships?

Hi delim

modell ships start at arround 80 $

by shibani you get more rupies for cash.

and you safe at home 1% when you buy the checks
and you don't need to pay commission in mru

but don't forget checks have an insurence
I make a mix, for the 1. week cash and than checks and creditcard

kindly regards anne
