Some basic important questions for coming!

HELLO to all at first, and greetings from Greece!
Iam going to come to Mauritius this sesson and have questions...although
i take some ansewrs from forum.
so
please inform me when you have more tourist activity in the island?and
when is the best weather period, without so many rains and winds,cause i want to make sea sports every day,i like snorkeling, is possible for someone to swim in deeper waters like 10-30meters deep,what about sharks..and visibility of sea water,
what about fishing and spearfishing is allowed it?
also how is the price of fresh fish,shrimps,crawfish etc. in fish shops?
At last what is the mood in the island?..single people come and interested
to make new friends and mayby a quality acquaintance,or is only most
for couples and honeymoon vacation style?

best weathers(local summer time) is from january to april and perhaps month or 2 more in both ends, but it's warm all year.
i don't think, that there is much sharks , but streams, so it's not safe swim outside the reef, if you go there, it's better take local boat with you, it's cheap.
visibility is good, if you don't go near big towns.
i am not shure, but i think spearfishing is allowed, haven't hear any limits
for fishing.
it's best to buy fresh fishes from fishing harbours, when big game boats are coming back from sea, but you find fishes in markets too, remember that salmon was expensive there, but not other fishes, for europeans.
in restaurants you find people at night, but there is much pairs, ot's not best place for partying, but i think, everything depends about you self, i've got many friends there.
have a good trip and try big game fishing too

Welcome to this forum! Do you already know where you are going to stay? Answering your many questions more detailed will only be possible if knowing your whereabouts. The northern tourist destinations in Mauritius are much bigger than in other parts of the island, and also the weather, sea, wind etc. conditions are different if you are in the West or the East.

Within the reef there are sometimes sharks but not very often. Outside the reef it's another story. Fishing is okay, spearfishing is NOT ALLOWED at all, and if you intend to bring a harpoon and someone of the fisheries guards finds out you can say good bye to it...

first thank you so much for your valuable info and your time.
well yes mayby i will stay in Tombeau-Bay coast ,what do you think about it ,do you suggest something else?
if yes suggest to me something out of the big hotels resorts style ,
cause i'll stay mayby for about 8 days in
a hotel resort and after i want to stay for 30days or more in a rent style house or hostel.

any incidents of attacking humans?
so also how is the price of fresh tuna,shark or other fish per kg in MUR?
