How much would I get per month if I get a job as a cashier in a Mauritius supermarket such as Super U, Jumbo or Continent etc?

Only MRS 4000 per month?

Is that enough to live on, say rent a flat, pay bills and for food, or do I have to live on a diet of dholl pourri? :he()

We cook it ourselves I guess...lol

Yeah the salary is really bad for a cashier

Its not worth the risk if u know what I mean

To live a decent life alone u will need at least 8000-10000Rs

Speaking of supermarkets and wages, I was looking at the prices of some processed foods in Super U and the prices looked similar to those here in the UK.

I guess the cashiers don't buy much there, unless they get a staff discount!

What do u mean cashiers don't buy there??

Supermarket products are usually less expensive than off license shops!

I wonder how they manage myself with this salary range

I mean they probably just buy the local produce, as the branded foods made in the UK that are exported to Mauritius, cost more there than here in the UK.

Local produce?

Putting vegetables, some fruits like pawpaw, mangoes and litchis, reared

chicken aside, most of our stuff are imported.

The only stuff we are fully self sufficient in are sugar and table salt.

Who does not agree with me??
