Well if I got paid RS 3000 a month a would go to Port Louis market to buy my fresh fruit and veg, rather than convenience foods from the supermarche.

( male) single how much salary woudl be required.. to live in a decent life.. .. i mean how much woudl it cost for a furnished decent house ( 2 bed room ) and a car of 1600cc lets say .. any idea.. i am coming fo rwork there for couple of years . any help woudl be highly appreciated.

Yes Patrick, Definitely!

You've got the option of either going through private rentals e.g. as advertised on the newspapers or through an estate agent.

If you need some websites for estate agents, just ask and I will make a post in the Introduce Yourself section or will send them to you in private so that you can have an insight of what price range ro expect.

I have received a job offer & I am planning to relocate to Mauritius. I have a few clarifications before I decide :

1) Salary pm offered is 130,000 MUR
2) Job location is Port Loius

I would like to know if the amount is decent to sustain a family of 3 (me, my spouse & my 3 yr old daughter)
How much will be a decent apartment cost me around my work area. Is there any website I can look for apartments & charges.
Same for the cars. Will I be able to afford one for myself.
Where can I find the details about the cost of living. I am of Indian origin.

How much will I be able to save for myself ?
I heard its an expensive country. Any idea how much expensive its compared to India.
