Prepaid sim card

Hi all,

Can anyone here recommend me a network which sells prepaid sim card? I will be staying at Port Louis. Are there any phone stores there where I can check out?

There are 2 network operators, Cellplus and Emtel. You can buy prepaid SIM cards in pretty much any convenience store. The choice will depend on which promotion the operator is running at the time you decide to purchase :wink)

Hi doo,
the two networks I can recommend you are CELLPLUS or EMTEL, you can buy the cards in almost every shop or supermarket and it works perfectly.
The costs are way cheaper than your foreign sim cards.....

Yes my thoughts exactly about the costs! Thanks for that. Btw, would you happen to know if there are any such stores around Port Louis area? I will be staying at Labourdonnais Hotel. Thanks again.

There is a phone shop at Caudan Waterfront (You will find your way there).

Thanks all. As i have just learnt, pretty much all the stores close on Sundays here! So i guess it will have to wait til the week.

It's only a sim card we're talking about here!

Shops at Caudan Waterfront are open till 2pm on Sundays!

Hi all

I'm staying at the Labourdonnais this Thursday and Friday.

I have an unlocked iPhone and want to buy a sim card and then add a data package as the Internet charge in the Hotel is way too high. I know there is limited wifi at Caudan Waterfront but I won't be outside all of the time.

I see from previous posts there is a phone shop on the waterfront. Will they sell me a sim card? Do I then need to go to the Emtel shop to add a data package?

Any detailed help available - many thanks!
