Hi Christine,
First of all some information about the plant itself for other people:
Typhonodorum lindleyanum is an aquatic Araceae
native to Madagasca with sagittate leaves
It grows to 2 or 3 meters tall in silty, basaltic, slightly acidic water
The 'flower' is a large spathe and spadix
(white "like a nun's habit")
the edible seeds are about 1.5 cm long and a rich brown colour.
Type of plant - Perennial
Flower: large WHITE bracted spadix
Fruit: edible
Foliage: large,oblanceolate
Height, in meters: 3 X
I don't really know if they are sold in Mauritius but you could contact either Pamplemousses garden office or the Ministry of Agriculture to have some more info. Did you try having a word with the people at Le Val?
The Ministry website with phone numbers:

Now then, the seeds or shootings can be bought from this South African company.

Hope you get the seeds. Let us know!
