Planning admission to Le Bocage midway ... any suggestions?

Beitragvon SanjaySAgrawal » Mo Feb 13, 2006 17:45

Hi all,

I am planning admission of my child to the IBDP program of Le Bocage in Moka. Their academic year begins from January, and my child shall be able to apply of admission only after he finishes writing his final exams in March. This means that if he does secure admission in the school, he would already be late by almost 3 and a half months.

Everything I have learnt thus far about Le Bocage has been very positive. My only concern is whether the child shall be able to cope up with the curriculum that would have elapsed by the time he joins.

I wonder if there are any alumni from Le Bocage here who can share with me their experience of such cases - either they themselves joined late and coped/couldn't cope, or there were batchmates who went through the similar experience.

I shall really appreciate inputs from anybody out there on this issue. My child is no genius, he is just an above-average, level-headed young lad! :-)

Thanks in advance,
Sanjay.

Inquisitive about everything!

Don't know Bocage well but Northfields (situated in the North, another High School)
Haven't heard that anybody with English-knowledge has ever had great difficulties because of system problems....

Don't worry....

Hello Axel,

Thanks for your reassuring words ... :-)

My concern has been whether the content of the first three months is such that students can manage it and come on par with the rest of the class quickly. I am sure there are instances of people coming to Mauritius during the year along with their children, and their children must be facing similar problems of a mountain of curriculum finished already. How do such children cope? Or do they have to drop one academic year and take admission in the next?

Or perhaps I am making a mountain out of a mole-hill? :-)

Regards,
Sanjay.
