Parboiled Rice

Beitragvon MmeTortue » Mo Jul 16, 2007 18:08

Hello Stefan,

In a country where every household (yours and mine may be exceptions as we are bloody krauts and my husband is more into baguette) owns a rice cooker the idea of offering parboiled rice doesn't seem to be such a good business idea - or am I wrong?

Yours truly

Dearest krauts on this island.

i would understand if the chinese community would have problems with parboiled rice, as the rice corn will slip of the sticks...

but parboiled means parboiled Rice

it is firmer and less sticky and nutritionally similar to brown rice.

i can't see sticky rice anymore :PPP)

Potatoes

Beitragvon MmeTortue » Di Jul 17, 2007 10:25

Dearest Stefan,

Good news: while on a flight from Melbourne to Perth last week I met an Australian gentleman who runs a company in Perth offering potatoe seeds. According to him the Mauritian government is considering to plant more potatoes instead of sugar cane (we all know why sugar cane will be reduced, but this is a different story).

So forget about the less stickier rice and go for the potatoes!

Mme. Tortue, la reine de gratin pomme-de-terre! :ploppop

well, well, well... I guess if I dared putting 'Uncle Ben's' on the table that would be the end of our marriage...

However all kinds of potatoe based meals (and there's a great variety, believe me!) are not only welcome but cannot be criticised as I'm 'la reine de gratin pomme-de-terre' by birth! :wink)

You should try my 'potato-mousse' which is enriched with local flavor: piment. Very, very hot!!!
