Obtaining a driving licence in Mauritius

for our english speaking user.

Beitragvon ud » Di Nov 10, 2009 19:07

Hey Devora,

So you're from Bulgaria? I've known a few ppl from Bulgaria over the years on the internet. They are cool ppl!

Our guild leader was a 30 year old lady from Bulgaria who played World of Warcraft, an online computer game atleast 5 hours everyday! She would talk and lead 40 members with her broken but yet sexy English accent.

I was devastated when I learnt that she was already married.... :O)

Anyway I hope you get your license sorted out. I'll be driving for the first time in Mauritius this december. :he()

Regards

ud

Hello MmeTortue,

I guess ppl can interprete it as a warning hehehe. Nah I'm a really careful driver.....so careful that I'm overtaken by trucks and bikes.

The only nightmare that haunts me a little bit is driving in Port-Louis during peak hours. :he() :::(

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.....as long as you stay in your shell! :Q

Kind Regards

Hey Joe,

Not really. We used to be a very good group of mauritians playing wow on Xavius pvp EU realm. Too bad everybody's moved on, got lolmarried or don't have time to play anymore.

I quit cos I was bored. So I sold my account. You've got quite a few days left to ding 80.

Sometimes I regret but I think I did the right choice after all.

:ploppop

Hi ud!

Yes, I am one among few BG ladies here in Mauritius. Driving in Mauritius is not so difficult, but I am not so careful driver. Lucky I am my husband (and kids) trust me to drive him/them (especially during the night).
So, stay cool and save driving in december!

Hi Ud,
You must be getting very excited about you next holiday to Mtius.....i am already planning next years trip to the island. I see you intend to drive whilst you are there........it will be an experience to remember.....i often drive when i am there.....but i tend to avoid Port louis......the "code de la route" is often ignored by almost everybody and a lot of drivers overtake on the left on the motorways......in fact they tend to overtake everywhere.........the mopeds and scooters always give me a cold sweat as they are like stuntsmen.....darting about doing slaloms between the cars......anyway i still enjoy driving there but i have to readjust my driving style to adapt to the situation...... have a nice holiday my friend, do enjoy the lovely local food, the beaches and above all the interaction with the lovely people.
Bye 4 now,
Gerard
Keep smiling and the world will smile back :)

Here is reality:
f
Foreigners (drivers) will be granted with Driving Permit from Mauritius Traffic Control Office (Police Headquarter) in Port Louis based on their valid Driving License.

For this they (foreign drivers) need to fill in an application form plus to apply valid Driving License or Official translation if it is not on English or French (this is my case), residence permit or any other document that proves your legal stay in Mauritius.

One little detail: Office is open up to 2pm.
Good news is that Driving Permit will be obtain at spot the same day.
