Postby butterfly » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:45

Hello,

So thinking, maybe there are mauritians guys with similer problem like mine, for example, wanna go to live in Europe, but cant get visa and so on. Like i know, if i am getting merried with mauritian guy, he is getting eu passport. Or we could disscus other ways, i could pay some money for this or something like that.

Maybe there are some other ways to solve my problem?

Need your advices.

Thank u very much!!!!!! Its very important for me.

Hi butterfly,

You might want to be careful with this thought. The rules about immigration pertaining to couples from different countries have been strengthened recently and the laws have been made quite strict due to the number of people caught doing this.

There is no guarantee that either yourself or your "Mauritian partner" will be granted a visa on the simple basis of marriage. They will check your status and background.

It is just a thought. Please do not take this personally.

I hope you find an alternative way to extending your stay in Mauritius without having to go towards the extreme of faking marriage.

Kind Regards

Hallo ud,

Think I already wrote it once - well I thought it that's for sure: Did you ever consider working in diplomacy? What an excellent response... and here are my three pence to the original posting:

When my Mauritian husband and I (German citizen) applied for a visa for him for the UK (several years ago and we weren't married very long at that stage), the officer at the British High Commission made some noises indicating that our marriage was a 'white' marriage meaning just for the cause to get a visa for my husband so he could stay in the UK.

We invited him to Mahebourg and to look into our familial background by interrogating my husband's seven sisters regarding our marriage... which he declined and we received the short stay visa.

 Aside from the fact, that I find this reason absolutely unpleasant and inappropriate for getting married,
you're on the spot and it should not be that difficult to capture an object of your desire.
Although I've to admit that I've already exceeded my blossom time and stayed only for a short period...
several offers & opportunities would have been available. :wink)
And I have to agree UD and MmeTortue... its not that easy anymore.
In the EU every aspect of your "relationship" will be exactly lighted up by the foreigners' registration office.

Hey CRaZy,

"Object of Desire" "several offers and opportunities" huh?

I like those kinky stories. You willing to share your experience? :O)

Anyway, some people do things out of desperation and Miss butterfly might be that determined. I don't think that there is much advice to give her on her choice if she opts for what she's proposing to do. I just hope she gets sorted.
Sometimes in life, I've found that you need to mend the law to a certain extent to achieve something.

Well butterfly, if you can't find anyone after a few years, you can still marry me. I will be "on the market" soon enough.
