honeymooon in mauritius..hilton? le victoria?

Postby delims » Mon Apr 19, 2004 10:46

hi all!

my fiancee and i are planning to visit mauritius for our honeymoon during mid june. after scouting around for many hotel packages, we've narrowed it down to 2. hilton and le victoria. hilton has been famous for its service, but we do not know much about le victoria, except that it's in a grand location near grand baie. what would hilton have to offer in terms of location compared to le victoria? we're interested in exploring mauritius and experiencing the famous friendliness and culture of the mauritian people, visiting natural waterfalls and even do some jungle exploring.

what are some good places to visit? including historical and cultural experiences? we've only got a week in mauritius and we're hoping to get a good balance between relaxing in the hotel and exploring mauritius. i've read about some boat tours to other smaller islands, any one gone for one of those before?

hoping to catch on of those famous sunsets we see in pictures of mauritius. such a beautiful island, sure that you guys are proud of it!

thanks in advanced for advice given

hi delims,

i think for you the right choice would be the hilton, its much closer to the places of interest. you have also the best beach of mauritius. to the jungle, and chamarel its just about an hour driving and the dolphins are just around the corner at tamarin. the next village is 10 minutes away so meeting locals is not a problem.
enjoy n best regards,

Hello Delims,

some more tips for visits: don't miss 'Pamplemousse' gardens. It's a beautiful park with a variety of trees and flowers. Ask one of the guides to take you around, it doesn't cost a fortune but they will show you more than you could ever see yourself...

You should also visit 'Grand Bassin' the largest Hindou temple on the island situated in the south. This can be will combined with a trip along the Southern Coast (the wild coast).

Enjoy your stay!
