Honeymoon Help!!

Postby catherine » Tue Feb 10, 2004 15:59

 Hello, firstly I would like to say that I love your website - very helpful and informative! I need some advice please as I am visiting Mauritius on my honeymoon for 2 weeks from 9th May this year. I am booked into the Cannonier on the North West coast, 4 stars, sunsets, very nice, etc. However, I have now been offered all-inclusive 5 star accommodation for a bit more money at the Shandrani on the South East coast. I have read that the airport is noisy (although some say it isn't) and that the beaches are too small and that it is too windy. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you :-)

Shandrani

Postby Michael » Sat Feb 21, 2004 11:44

Hello Cathy,

seems nobody saw your posting. Joana is unfortunately actually not in Mauritius anymore and will be back in March.

As far as I know Shandrani is a well known and nice Hotel - near to the airport but I am not aware that the noise is too annoying. There is not a lot around that hotel, next bigger village is Mahebourg 15-20 km from the hotel. So if you like to see more from the country it might not be the best starting point.

Hope this already helps a bit.

Honeymoon only in west

Postby Peter I. » Sat Feb 21, 2004 18:20

Hi Catherine,
if honeymoon - then only the west part of Mauritius. The sunsets are so romantic.

Hi Peter,

Thank you very much for your reply. After much research I decided to opt for the West coast and we are going to stay at the Trou aux Biches. I am sure we will have a fantastic time!

Cath :-)
