Hawkers on beach

Beitragvon abhifloydfan » Mo Okt 23, 2006 13:13

Hello,
I have heard that hawkers are found roaming on the beaches on the island selling clothes, etc. Is this really true coz its a downer?
I have heard abt instances at Le Mauricia. Is this prevalent in other beaches as well?

Cheers,
- Abhishek.

how does this make someone who's earning a living a downer?

U seem to forget that these kind of things happen even more in your

country my friend?

Tourists buy from those people..well if u don't like it just don't buy from

them its simple! This won't affect your statutory rights...lol

Most of the beach hawkers will accept a polite "no thank you". The beach hawkers seem to have a lot more manners and are not as annoying as the taxi drivers who toot their horns, "kerb crawl" next to you as you walk and approach you whenever you walk onto the street in the tourist areas.

Well people are trying to earn a living u see,

Let's say the taxi people are trying harder...yeah they are annoying

What I'm really surprised is that I don't see how this really affects

tourists...I know you are looking for peace of mind and rest but these

people are selling their services to you and liasing directly with you.

Well a No thank you very much is well enough to make them understand

I guess as you've well said mempep.

So I don't think this is a really big issue that's worth a debate

Regards
