Honeymoon in May

Beitragvon MmeTortue » Di Mär 01, 2005 10:06

Hello Roger,

Welcome to this forum and have fun planning your wedding and your honeymoon trip! Stefan is right, Le Meridien is a bit secluded. However it shouldn't be a problem getting a taxi to have a look around.

Tell your driver what you want to see and negotiate a price for the whole tour in advance. Mauritian taxi drivers will even wait if you decide to go for a swim or if you want to spend some time at a place that pleases you very much.

Have fun!

Hellooo again friendsss!
Thank you for answering my first question -you are honest! :ploppop
It is the travel agent who suggested this hotel; however the first place anybody told me of is the Belle Mare Plage Hotel -they said is superb, but I do not play golf I said to myself. Anyway, here I go. Mauritius is an island but Isuppose there are many things to do and places to visit. Can you suggest a good web site to get some information 'bout the island? Places to visit, excursions, desert beaches, beautiful spots; what to eat -always local food, of course; what to drink -what is common. Although one can bring good wine and food from Spain we are going to enjoy the local products. Tell me what are the best restaurants (which not always is the most expensive, right?) and interesting places to have a drink and some fun. By the way, is there any bar where you can enjoy rock'n roll???
Also, what to visit in Port Louis; what is interesting socially and culturally speaking?
:-D I am very happy because we will have the opportunity of knowing what is known as the "pearl of the Indic" and 'cause this name is not given only for the landscapes but also for the human factor. It will be six days only but a very intense experience, I hope.
Well friends I thank you in advance for your next answers. BYE.

Mauritius Info

Beitragvon MmeTortue » Do Mär 03, 2005 8:27

Hello Roger,

you already arrived at the right place to get more information. Just click on the MAURITIUS INFO icon in the middle on the top of this page (the little island with the palm tree) and you will end up on a page with a wealth of information - in German.... However there's a tiny Union Jack on the German page which leads you to the English speaking site.

Have fun

Hello Mike, nice to meet you.
Thank you for your information. Is fantastic the activities one can join and these places you named...it sounds great! For sure we will visit places and go around (we will try not to stay in the hotel all the time).
There is a question I have to make; a question my future wife asks to you all: are there snakes in Mauritiusssss?? and if the answer is YES, can they be easily seen? Please, be honest because she is driving me crazy looking for [exotic] destinations where there are no snakessss
Ok then, thanks by now. See you in another occasion :ploppop

Snakes

Beitragvon MmeTortue » So Mär 06, 2005 18:16

Hello Roger,

I live in Mauritius for seven years now and I've seen once a snake (a dead one that is...). Your girlfriend shouldn't worry it all!
