Is it good at the end of March?

for our english speaking user.

Is it good at the end of March?

Postby Ghost_guard » Fri Mar 07, 2008 23:18

Hello everyone! We are going to Mauritius at 27th March for 5 nights! Will the weather be good for swimming and other sea activities or it will be raining cats and dogs? Is it better to rent a car or a moto to explore the island? We have already booked a hotel at Troux-aux-Biche, is it a nice place to stay? I need yours answers!!!

Thank you for the great site!

Yes, end of March is in general a very good time. The risk of cyclones is usually over, the air and water temperatures are perfect.

Do read the weather information here, in particular 'West' where Trou-aux-Biches is located:

As for exploring the island, I do recommend hiring a taxi for the day, especially since you're not familiar with the island yet. The roads are often not in a very good shape and they tend to drive not very carefully sometimes. And they drive on the left!

Hello Ghost-guard,

Kathy (Elle aime bien la confiture/She is a jam addict   )) is right in all what's she's saying and I just wanted to add something to that. The location of Trou aux Biches is ideal in a way that it's kind of 10 mins away from Grand Baie- the tourist village of Mauritius. There, you will be able to find pubs/clubs as part of the nightlife and most facilities like restos, supermarkets e.t.c handy.

Take Care and Enjoy your holidays

Best regards
