Flying out in 3 weeks

I am flying out to mauritius in 3 weeks. I am staying at the Ambre on the east coast.
Can anyone tell me of the places to visit, eat at, and how best to get around the island. (I have heard that scooters are a good option.)

I was planning to post a section dedicated to places of Interest but will need sometime to do that. Now that I'm done with uni, I have some spare time available.

I am going for 2 weeks. I have looked online at the walk with lions and it looks amazing - do you know if it is as good as it looks? Also I saw a dolphin boat trip?

Hi I don't live where you are going for holiday!

However: you will love it here , there is plenty to do, and you are right to plan you 2 weeks to get the maximum out of your holiday!

Using a scooter is a good idea, just beware of the other drivers here, it is not like the uk, you are more at risk here.

Eating out is not expensive, you can get a good meal out for 2 from 10 pounds.

Can you tell me what the weather is likely to be. I have been surfing a number of review sites and much to my suprise people have been saying that the weather is terrible at the moment and I should expect rain?
Is this true? I was expecting warm sun and the ability to spend time on the beach snorkling.

We had a few weeks of bad weather - on't forget it is winter here!

It is now picking up and today when I was on the beach it was 29c , hot and sunny.
Do ecpect cooler nights , but during the day it will be nice weather generally,

Good for water sports etc.

Thank you for the weather report, I am feeling much better. I don't mind it being cooler in the evenings, as long as I am not heading into the same kind of weather as we have here in Scotland......
Rain, rain and more rain and a temp of 16c !!!!!

this morning I sent your enquiery to a mauritian friend, who is living on the east-coast in Belle Mare.
Here is his answer:
"nature has changed so much
last week it was raining and windy and cold,this week it is hot during the day very cold in the night in the east but we cannot give a proper forcast for the next days except that it will be cold during the night"

The last two days have been lovely weather here in the North - warm and sunny all day.

Still cool at Night , but not as bad as Scotland.
I used to live near Glasgow for a few years , did some nursing at Greenock Royal . Went to Dunoon many times, a bit like Ireland, friendly and social people!!
Veey nice people in Mauritius of course!!

Well back to the beach - again - a little work maybe

Well well well, what a small world. I live just across the water on the banks of Loch Lomond. I do however visit Greenock often, as my grandfather lives there.

Yes the weather here is terrible. I am looking forward to what you call winter (it is better than our summer!!!!)
