Exploring Mauritius

Beitragvon Guillaume » Sa Apr 23, 2005 15:17

Hi all,

Reading through the forms has been very helpful.

I’m coming in November for my sisters wedding but am planning to stay longer after family returns to the UK. A 2 week budget break.

Having only just finished University I’ve been looking for hostel and cheap accommodation for single person (quite difficult to find), and am coming to settle on Heron Villas in Mont Choisy. Unfortunately all the UK accessible web sites just repeat the same outdated information, does anyone know of it (heard any experiences) or knows how I could contract the hostel?

Honestly, I’m not too worried about the accommodation, because I don’t think I’ll spend much time there. I’d prefer to explore & travel around, but i will be relying on public transport to get around. Do people have any tips on transport (last bus) around the north or can recommend good (inexpensive) places to visit. Some quiet-relaxation sites to escape the crowds would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance :ploppop ,

Regards,

Guillaume.

Guillaume

Thanks Anne,

I’ll check it out :ploppop .

Also, is Mont Choisy a good location to travel around Mauritius from? I thought it would be an ideal place between Grand Baie and Port Louis? But with busses ending at 8.00pm, are there any better areas on the island you'd recommend?

Regards,

Guillaume.
