DOMAINE LES PAILLES
Domaine les Pailles is situated in the foothills of the Moka Range. The estate occupies 3,000 acres where visitors can either walk or tour the grounds in horse drawn open topped carriages passing a reconstruction of and early sugar factory, windmill, rum distillery, spice garden and riding stables. A children's corner for the over 5's provides activities and entertainment including pony rides. Adults can make an adventurous safari in Land Rovers along 11km (7miles) of winding mountain tracks though nature reserves containing wild stag, hare and monkey. A lodge some 336m (1,200ft) above sea level provides refreshment and wonderful views.
