Cost of Living

Beitragvon sOuP » Sa Feb 10, 2007 14:05

Hi There

Thanks for the attempt at claryfying the cost of living and grocery expenses.
I would just like to find out whether the list of groceries and prices are reflected in Mauritian Rupees?

What do you mean?

Rs = Rupees and £ = Pounds and quid =pounds

The list I tried to give xilvah is kind of where I converted into pounds.

I know you all are probably tired of this question...but...

Beitragvon purplepixie » Di Mär 18, 2008 10:48

I am wanting to know is Rs 15000 per month an average sort of salary?

We are a family with children.

So basically I am just wanting to know would this amount be enough to cover basics like rent, water and electricity?

As for rent, I know it would depend on area and size of house etc., so we would be looking for a place on the coast, nothing fancy, as least in walking distance to a beach, and at least 3 bedrooms. What sort of rents could we expect for this?

And if anyone could give me an approx. for water/electric that would help.

Thanks so much for any advice!

OMG!!!!

That's more than a 300% rise in 1 year!!!!! :pp)

It might rise again as the price of edible oil has lately increased. Dholl puri used to be the cheapest meal, now it's like a delicacy!!!!
