Hello Scope,
There's are not many English language titles that I can offer for 'leasing' as I usually hand them over to the library of Mahebourg's Loreto College when I've finished them. However at this stage there are four Alexander McCall Smith titles in our house: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Tears of the Giraffe, Morality for Beautiful Girls and The Kalahari Typing School for Men - wonderful small books, detective stories from Botswana -but not the usual crime fiction. They are funny and contain a lot of wisdom at the same time.
Furthermore some Donna Leon (Detective stories in Venice) and Evelyn Waugh titles. Otherwise I've got some biographies on the shelf: Nelson Mandela, Michael Hutchence, Katherine Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy Onassis etc.
