Hi there,

I also had the same problem. I contacted the Registrar of Civil Status explaining the situation, fortunately my late mothers solicitor was allowed to obtain copies for me (with a letter from me giving him permission to do so, a copy of the death certificate, my birth certificate).

The Registrar of Civil Status

Hello rofique 2,

I'm sad to hear about your loss but life continues!

Now then,If you've got relatives back in Mauritius (next of kin to your father), they should be able to retrieve these important documents through the family lawyer/solicitor.

Going through him speeds things up instead of waiting for the Registrar...

I can't advise you in the case you haven't got anyone to help back in Mauritius...sorry

Regards and best of luck
