About Teddy’s Foundation
Teddy’s Foundation, founded in 2003, is a registered non-profit and Mauritius nongovernmental organization (NGO).
Thousands of children are uneducated and facing numerous problems in Mauritius. It is not easy to raise a child with restrained income. Although education is free in Mauritius, some families do not have the means to buy pens and pencils, note books, books, bags and shoes to send their children to school.
This is a hard reality that most of us are unaware.
Teddy’s Foundation was set up to meet the educational needs and wants of these disadvantaged children.
To promote the educational awareness of disadvantaged children aged between 0-9 years old in Mauritius.
Desired Program Outcomes
(a) Provide educational materials to the disadvantaged children of Mauritius aged between 0 to 9 years old.
(b) Track the educational growth of such disadvantaged children.
(c) Create awareness amongst the disadvantaged children of Mauritius and their families on the need for education.
(d) Equipping disadvantaged children of Mauritius so that they become independent, self sufficient and better leaders of tomorrow.
Extended families face an enormous financial barrier to educating Mauritian children. Teddy’s Foundation is helping to address this unmet need by supporting community-based organizations in Mauritius that serve the needs of education materials to related villages.
