Hello ,

I will be visiting mauritius next week.I've already searched about tsunami risks and I was relief .But the yesterday's tsunami made me hesitant again.
Could someone who lives in Mauritius enlight me about the situation there.

Which part of Maurtius will u be?

hello! it's gonna be my 1st visit to mauritius & i will be staying in the south east.. i understand the tsunami hit the eastern shores.. thus was wondering how safe is the south east? & any high areas tt we can run to?

What do u mean the tsunami hit mauritius??

There was only a wave that reached the filao trees and that was it.

You're safe here no worries

Our location in the Indian Ocean and the depths of waters around the

Mascareignes islands attenuated the tidal wave. I read this somewhere.

Seychelles got hit worse not only because of its proximity but because of that water depth thingy.
