Es kursieren momentan ge-fake-te Zimmer-Anfragen. Nicht nur in Mauritius, sondern WELTWEIT. Also, an jeden, der eine solche Anfrage hatte, bitte ungeachtet lassen!
Wir als Gästehaus-Betreiber bekamen vor kurzem auch eine Anfrage per Mail.

Inquiry) they are Medical groups,eight (8) in number visiting your country
for medical researches, tests and inquiries on flu. I write to inquire for
room availability in your establishment,as they will be arriving on 10th
February, 2010,to depart on 25th February, 2010.Which they will stay for
16 nights,and they will need four(4) double rooms.
The Group Name: World Health Institute Of Inquiry(WHII).Please confirm the
room availability and whether you accept credit card (VISA,MASTER CARD,
AMERICAN EXPRESS) payments and get back to me with your rates and total
cost of four rooms,with your payment system so that you will be sent a
credit card to make a deposit payment for the rooms before our arrival.

Wir gingen auf diese Anfrage wie routinemäßig direkt ein. Allerdings kamen weiter Mail, mit einem "Standardtext". Wir wurden nie mit dem Namen angeschrieben und es wurde immer nach einer Kreditkarten-Überweisung gefragt. Das kam mit etwas "spanisch" vor.
Ich habe dann mal unter dem Namen "Theo Brown" und "World Health Institute Of
Inquiry" ge-googelt und fand das:

Was da vor sich geht, weiss ich nicht. Uns ist es nur wichtig, das wir auch jeden anderen Gästehaus-Betreiber davon informieren, um zu warnen, evtl. Informationen über Kreditkarten o.ä. herauszugeben.
Das nur zur Info, ansonsten noch ein FRohes Weihnachtsfest und einen GUTEN RUTSCH ins NEUE JAHR 2010!
