Dolphins encounter

Beitragvon nitrogen » Mo Jul 17, 2006 18:41

Dear Marc. You made a good choice to come to Mauritius. The boat is actually in Black-River in the west coast of the Island. for the trip , it will cost you Rs 1000 per person which mean about 18 pounds for the two hours trip. If u need more information , dont hesitate to contact me.
Greetings ,
Francois.

ps : the weather is quite windy in the afternoon , but during the day , i think that u will love it.

Dolphins

Beitragvon martinwatts920 » Mi Aug 16, 2006 3:19

Hi Francois

My partner (very soon to be my wife) and I will be travelling to Mauritius on september the eleventh for our two week honeymoon. Swimming with Dolphins sounds fantastic, and i see from your postings that you really care for their welfare too. How do we go about organising a swim? Martin

Hi,

I was one of the first to operate with the dolphin`s after Delphine about 6 years ago and I decided to stop as it`s so terrible whats happening there. The rules are good but seem nearly impossible to apply for now as everyone is so frantic about getting close to them, maybe with some more sensitisation like Reef Mauritius organises it should get better. I don`t think people should try to swim with the dolphins and motors should be turned off once reached the bay. I had realise that dolphins actually circled the bay before and that just sitting in a spot they would eventualy come round. Meanwhile I would explain my clients a bit about the dolphins and surroundings. Another idea is to get binoculors.

I think we owe these dolphins some respect.
