Mauritius Shopping

Shopping
Mauritius is a paradise for cloth shopping. But look well: not everywhere you get the brand which is on the piece. Just take your time, don’t buy in the beginning of your holiday. Even it seems a good deal in the first moment, the same shirt might be at half price around the corner.
Tipp: let your dress, trousers or suite be tailor made for just a little bit more than peanuts within 24 hours.
Looking for a nice T-shirt? Try the local brands with good quality like, Mauritius T-Shirts or Peaceangels.
You like markets? Try Thursdays and Sundays the cloth-market in Quatre Bornes (10-16 hrs). Tuesday and Friday is market in Goodlands (also 10-16 hrs), little smaller, but also little cheaper (not so many tourists).
Opening hours of shops:
- Port Louis: Monday to Friday 10 hrs to 17 hrs, Saturday 10 hrs to 12 hrs, Sunday closed.
- Other cities: Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday: 10 hrs to 17 hrs, Thursday and Sunday: 10 hrs to 12 hrs
Big supermarkets open usually at 9 hrs and close during the week at 20 hrs, Friday and Saturday at 22 hrs and Sunday at 12 hrs.
