Why not combine your stay in Mauritius with some days on our neighbor-island Reunion? Reachable within 30 minutes by plane (150 km) is a small part of the Cote d'Azur in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
The most impressive of the French island La Reunion is its nature: an active volcano, mountains over 3.000 m high, 2.000 m deep canyons; villages only reachable by a road with more than 400 curves; other villages only reachable by walk or helicopter.
You will find very good infrastructure, excellent roads and some (less impressive) beaches.
Reunion: an island of superlatives is the contrary to Mauritius. It's a must for nature-lovers.
